COLLABORATIVE FAMILY LAW

A LESS ACRIMONIOUS WAY TO DIVORCE

PAINTERS SOLICITORS are proud to announce that Partner MEERA KHOSLA is one of a pioneering group of Solicitors in the Wyre Forest area who is specially trained to offer a unique way of dealing with divorce, separation and related issues concerning the children.

Sadly, family breakdown is a fact of modern life. But the emotional and financial cost on couples and their children can, in the right circumstances be significantly reduced with the revolutionary collaborative law approach. Couples can work constructively WITH their Solicitors rather than dealing THROUGH them, by meeting together round a table and reaching agreement without the need for any lengthy or bitter court battles. The emphasis is on generating options to achieve settlement rather than conflict. The negotiations are carried out nearly entirely in four way meetings, attended by both lawyers and both clients. Many Practitioners refer to the collaborative process as “mediation with advice”.

As a Collaboratively trained member of “Resolution”, Meera is now trained to offer specialist advice on this non-confrontational team approach; she will be able to facilitate and guide the parties on finding their own family-focused and shared solutions, and where extra help is required then financial advisors, mediators or counsellors may be called in to the meetings.

Painters solicitors are again at the forefront of the Family Law Profession in our region being only one of very few firms offering a premium Collaborative Law Service.

Why do I need a solicitor when I could just do it myself?

 Is it cheaper?

Surely Lawyers just take over and make the problem worse

Should I use the Collaborative process or the court process?

Can’t the richer party just get a better lawyer?

What if I don’t like collaborative law after I have started?

Is Collaborative process easier than the Court process?

Is it just the clients and their Collaborative Lawyers that attend the meetings?
