On leaving Shrewsbury School in the summer of 1965 he took up employment with Painters the family’s practice of Solicitors in Kidderminster and since qualifying as a Solicitor in 1971 he has been, at times, a partner at Painters with his Grandfather, Father and Uncle and since 1998 with others. He held the title of Managing Partner from 1977 following his Father’s retirement from the Partnership.
He moved on in 1991 to take up the dual role of Senior Partner and Managing Partner when his Uncle retired, positions which he held until 2009 when he stood down as the Managing Partner. He remained as the Senior Partner until his retirement from the Partnership in 2012. Upon his retirement he remained with the firm as a Consultant, a position he still holds now.
During all of this time, he has been mainly involved in dealing with Residential and Commercial Property Matters and some private client work.
He recently came out of semi-retirement to take up the vacant position of Head of the Property Department. He will have completed 55 years in the practice later this year and still shows no sign of moving on.
Also during this time, he has been involved in many sporting activities and on various boards and committees such as Kidderminster Harriers Football Club, Football in the Community with the Harriers and Stourport Hockey Club.
He did also serve for many years as a Governor of two local schools.
He is married to Gillian and they have two children, both of whom have left the nest.
